Escher attends 2011 Caribbean Postal Union conference in Curaçao
Escher Group travelled to Curaçao, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea off the Venezuelan coast, as an exhibitor at the 14th Caribbean Postal Union (CPU). The conference was hosted by the the Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen. During the event, Escher's counter automation technology, RiposteEssential, was showcased to delegates.
The six-day event, which concluded last Saturday, brought together many delegates from the Union. At the official opening ceremony, the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gerrit Schotte, addressed the delegates, while a traditional Bon bini ‘welcome’ party of Curaçao dancers was appreciated by all those in attendance!!
The conference addressed the challenges facing the postal sector in the Caribbean, and discussed ways in which postal organizations could expand their reach through partnerships and new technology.
